THE LECTURERS

Prof. Rene T. Domingo, the course director, is a full-time professor at the Asian Institute of Management where he teaches Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Business Process Reengineering and Management of Service Operations. Prof. Domingo holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines and an M.S. degree in Management Engineering from the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. Prof. Domingo has served as consultant to major local and Asian firms on productivity and quality improvement. He manages a business management website - www.rtdonline.com. He co-authored “Management Turnaround”, a book published in Indonesia about how Indonesian companies survived the Asian crisis through effective turnaround strategies. His book on Total Quality Management entitled “Quality Means Survival” has been translated into Bahasa Indonesia.

Mr. Gordon J. Stevenson, a former student of the Fathers of “Quality”, Dorian Shainin and Edward Deming, was born, bred and educated in Scotland, United Kingdom. He has received numerous accolades including the Asean Best Executive Award 2001/2002 and was a Director of various divisions within Philips from 1987 until 2005 leading transformations in Operations in Europe, Philippines, Indonesia & China participating as a Philips Industrial Council Member for China and the Asean Region. During this period, he received a commendation from the President of Royal Philips Electronics for his level of service and distinctive contribution supporting the company. He was promoted by Philips to General Manager & Vice President, Asia Pacific in 2003 and was then based in Shanghai China and is now currently a business consultant. Gordon qualified as an E.F.Q.M. (European Foundation Quality Management) Business Excellence Assessor and he studied Mechanical Engineering at the Glasgow College of Engineering in Great Britain and was a Member of the Institute of Industrial Management (U.K.)
