Introduction
Various domestics and transnational crimes, committed by individual and corporations, are increasing. Such crimes include, among others corruption, smuggling, drugs, fraud and various white collar crimes have been involving or producing extremely large amounts of assets. Assets derived from such crimes are generally not spent or used directly by the felonies. Instead, the felonies will always attempt to hide or conceal the origins of assets derived from criminal acts and target financial systems such as banking systems and other financial systems to launder the assets.
The effects of money laundering are, among other things:
  • Increased crime and corruption;
  • Weakening financial institutions;
  • Loss of control of, or mistakes in, decisions regarding economic policy;
  • Economic distortion and instability;
  • Loss of tax revenue; and
  • Reputation risk for the country
This training will primarily provide the participants with the most spoken topic in the world of money laundering: “The Methods of Money Laundering” and it is expected that upon completion of this 2-day-workshop, the participants will be able to demonstrate their comprehensive knowledge and understanding on Money Laundering.
